REALME 8 PRO REVIEW |
The Look
The Realme 8 Pro comes
in a bright yellow box just like other Realme smartphones. It sports a big
6.4-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution and an in-display
fingerprint scanner. It has a 16-megapixel selfie camera in the top left corner
and thin bezels on the sides. The smartphone is lighter than the current
average, tipping the scales at 176g. It's also only 8.1mm thick.
The button placement is
comfortable on the Realme 8 Pro. The power and volume buttons are on the right,
and are easy to reach. On the left, the Realme 8 Pro has the SIM tray with two
Nano-SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot. It has the 3.5mm audio jack,
primary microphone, USB Type-C port, and speaker at the bottom, while the top
only has the secondary microphone.
The
back of the frame is curved towards the edges to make the Realme 8 Pro
comfortable to hold. Realme's logo is printed in landscape, and its tag line
“Dare to Leap” is plastered across the back. The back panel has a textured
finish whereas the text is glossy and really stands out.
The
Realme 8 Pro is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. You get
6GB and 8GB RAM options, while storage remains 128GB.
Unboxing of Realme 8 pro:
The Realme 8 Pro arrives in a familiar yellow box
and has the usual contents. There is a SuperDart 65W-rated charger and a
USB-A-to-C cable that can handle charging at 6.5A. The power adapter is a bit
overqualified for the job as the Realme 8 Pro supports up to 50W charging, but
we guess to bundle the chargers you have in stock rather than manufacture newer
inferior ones. Inside the box, you'll also find a transparent silicone case
that'll provide extra protection and grip if you need it. It will make the thin
Realme 8 Pro thicker and take some of its coolness, though.
How powerful is the Realme?
The Realme 8 Pro has the
Snapdragon 720G platform that powered the Realme 7 Pro.
Performance is satisfactory with bit of micro-stutter while navigating the
interface. Realme 8 Pro is able to max out graphics in Call of Duty: Mobile, the
CPU usage heats the back. A steady 60fps at max settings in intensive 3D games.
The phone will suffice for moderate gaming while as the chipset is far from future-proofed.
