Introduction:

Redmi Note 10 Pro – World’s first Penta-camera smartphone which was recently introduced on March 24, 2021 by the Chinese Electronics Giant, Xiaomi which is also known as MI (Mobile Internet). Xiaomi is an internet company with smartphones and smart hardware connected by IOT (Internet Of Things) platform at its core. Globally Xiaomi is ranked 3rd in terms of smartphone shipment in the fourth Quarter of 2020.

Redmi usually releases the best budget phone with most upgraded specifications which can even be compared to expensive smartphones that cost much more than the one of Xiaomi. Redmi Note 10 Pro is from the 10th generation in the Redmi Note lineup which has massively improved in technology and specifications compared to Redmi Note 1 while the price hasn’t increased so far. Xiaomi has also been offering HRR screens on cheap value than other corporations. Redmi uses its own user interface known as MIUI and Redmi note 10 pro itself uses MIUI 12. In terms of android version, Redmi note 10 pro uses android 11 which is currently second most updated android version. It has 64GB/128GB ROM with 6GB/8GB RAM. It is 193g in weight and 8.1mm in thickness.

 

Redmi Note 10 Pro – The First Look;

The Redmi Note 10 Pro has brought one of the most requested fan-favorite features – 120Hz OLED screen. A lot of people were hoping for an OLED upgrade and this premium feature would be like a wish come true feature in Redmi Note 10 Pro. It has 6.67” OLED screen with HDR10 that can support 1080x2400px resolution. It has a body of 164x76.5x8.1mm and is 193g in weight. It also has Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back of the phone with dust and splash protection. It has both front camera (Single-camera with wide lens) and rear camera (Quad-camera with wide lens, ultrawide lens, macro lens and depth lens). It also supports fingerprint sensor which is side mounted in this version. It also has earphone jack (3.5mm). Currently it is available in Onyx Gray, Glacier Blue and Gradient Bronze colors.

 

Redmi Note 10 Pro – The Inside Look;

The Redmi Note 10 Pro supports Android 11 with user interface MIUI 12 which is currently one of the most upgraded android versions and MIUI version. It runs on the Octa-core processor (2x2.3 GHz Kryo 470 Gold and 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver); GPU - Adreno 618; Chipset – Qualcomm SM7150 Snapdragon 732G (8 nm). In terms of memory, it has 64GB/128GB ROM as well as 6GB/8GB RAM. It has battery of 5020 mAh and is non-removable and also supports Fast-Charging (33W). In terms of sensor, it supports fingerprint (side mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. In terms of communication, it supports WLAN (Wi-fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, Hotspot), Bluetooth (5.1), GPS, NFC, Infrared Port, USB type-C 2.0, FM Radio. There is even a 2D face unlock feature available too but it is far less secured than the fingerprint option.

 

Features and Specifications;

Body: It has 164x76.5x8.1mm body which weighs to 193g. It has Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and back of the body which is even dust and water splash protected (IP53).

Display: It has 6.67” AMOLED screen with HDR10 feature. It Supports the picture quality up to 1080x2400 pixels; 20:9 aspect ratio.

Platform: It runs on the Qualcomm SM7150-AC Snapdragon 732g(8nm) Chipset; Octa-core processor (2x2.3 GHz Kryo 470 Gold and 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver); Adreno 618.

OS/Software: It runs on the android version 11 also named as android 11 and the user interface of Xiaomi named as MIUI 12 which are currently the most upgraded versions of android and MIUI.

Memory: It is available in 64GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM with a slot for memory card too for external storage if necessary.

SIM: It supports Dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD).

Rear camera: It has Quad-camera on rear side among which the Wide(main) lens is of 108MP f/1.8, Ultrawide lens is of 8MP f/2.2, Macro lens is of 5MP f/2.4, Depth lens is of 2MP f/2.4.

Front Camera: It has Wide camera lens of 16MP f/2.5 on the front side.

Video Capture: The video in the phone recorded through rear camera is in 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps while through front camera is in 1080p@30fps.

Sound: It has loud stereo speakers with 3mm jack for earphone too.

Battery: It has Li-Po 5020mAh non-removable battery which supports fast charging of 33W and a charging plot for Type-C charger.

Misc.: It has fingerprint sensor(side-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, infrared port, NFC, FM radio, GPS and many more.

 

Unboxing of Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro;

The Redmi Note 10 Pro is provided in the regular paper box with every necessary thing you need while operating the phone except a pair of earphones/headphones. The box contains a 33W power adapter with a 3A-rated USB A-to-C cable. You also get a transparent silicone case with a cover lid for the charging plot. It also has a thin screen protecting layer on the screen already applied by manufacturer. And it also has the SIM ejector tool, warranty information, user manual of phone within the box.

New updates on the software of Redmi Note 10 Pro;

The new MIUI 12.5 is scheduled to arrive within April or May this year. While it doesn’t seem to be a major update; the company actually have redone the whole MIUI 12 packages to lower the power consumption and memory consumption of the core applications and also has improved visual designs.

 

What’s new in MIUI 12?

The MIUI 12 has offered an optional app drawer which automatically organizes the apps in different categories. The first is all i.e., it contains all the applications, then follows communication, entertainment, photography, tools, new, business etc. You can edit these categories or even can disable it from settings.

Another interesting feature is the Notification shade split in Notification center and control center. As like in iPhones, you can bring the notification center by pulling left part of the screen and the control center by pulling right part of the screen. You can even disable this feature if it’s not your kind of thing.

In MIUI 12, a couple of privacy options had been added like while sharing photos and video or any other file, you can opt to remove the location info or any other metadata (incl. device info) to protect your privacy better.

The MIUI supports the Dark mode too and you can even force it on wallpapers and even restrict on incompatible individual apps.

 

Customers Review and Feedback;

Redmi Note 10 Pro has scored 4.2 stars out of 5 in customers rating. As per some customers following strengths and weaknesses have been seen by customers in Redmi Note 10 pro than of other smartphones;

Strengths;

·         The UI in Redmi i.e., MIUI is better than other UIs,

·         Second space is great and is working well,

·         Gorilla Glass 5 on back of phone in Matte Black color is amazing and looks premium in hand.

Weaknesses;

·         The Camera quality is better in Samsung than in MI,

·         No wireless charging,

·         Doesn’t record 4K from Ultrawide Camera.
